I'm pretty sure Sam has more he can do with this player yet. Sam's still only been working with a team comprising players who were badly broken plus four new acquisitions for about three months yet.

Puncheon's looked to me a bit like a general dogsbody doing whatever comes up in the middle of the pitch but not being clear on what is actual job is, oh and often ending up playing too deep (which would explain the lack of goals a bit). Being captain has given him more focus and contributed something that was badly lacking, and we now look more robust as a team. I still don't think we're making the most of his technical capabilities, but it's a refreshing change that Sam is addressing character, psychology and personalities, matters to which Pardew paid no attention whatsoever.

Yep he's actually decent in the air. Unlike Wilf, who I can only ever remember heading the ball once (wasn't bad timing to do it in a play-off semi-final to be fair) despite being 6ft+

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Zaha's 5' 11", and yes def. known as a player with no heading prowess- usually sending in crosses rather than receiving them

It's an amazing stat that puncheon featured in every cpfc win since promotion. However his contribution as a player 0 goals and a few assists is not good enough to warrant an instant pick due to his captaincy. We bought puncheon as a winger. So for me his a failed winger. Just like when we signed mark Kennedy

Chelsea bought Victor Moses as a winger so do you see him as a failure too?

Obviously you don't understand. Puncheon playing in the centre of midfield because he legs are gone. He's been great for Palace since promotion however we need an upgrade.

Been a great servant, but definitely one who needs upgrading next season.
