Agreed. Parish has taken us to the level that all of us Palace fans have been dreaming of all our life. An established top flight team. No other chairman, manager or man has done that. And you still get numpties on here giving him grief. Beggars belief. Spot on...we owe just as much a debt to Ron as we do Arthur and now Steve P...it always amazes me how people are bitter towards Uncle Ron.

I get your point. But the history books still tell the same story. I'm not talking about AW's panache and decorum as I wasn't there to witness it. What I mean by Parish being the best chairman is that he has done what no chairman has ever been able to. Sign international superstar players to come and play for Palace. Only ever time that had happened before was with Attilio. We're also signing players from other premier league clubs. Something I can't remember happening other than maybe Iain Dowie and Paul Warhurst. He's changed the whole perception of our club. And as we know, perception in this game is everything when you want to bring players to the club. He's a classy operator and it has helped our club progress to a point none of us have witnessed before. ...and when that happened it was a far far bigger coup then signing players we can now afford due to tv money. It was a signing that pretty much rocked football at the time..thanks to Ron Noades

Was a great era under Ron Noades,am not bitter towards him but he dissapointed me immensly when he sold most of the best players and invested that money outside the club. One thing i will say he was a 100% Palace fan as was his family.

Now, we had some great times under his Chairmanship but he was never Palace.

Now, we had some great times under his Chairmanship but he was never Palace. He one of the very first Chairman to realise that football was a business, and as a result we benefited...end of. We DIDNT merge with Wimbledon because it didn't in the end make sense to do so, so that's a moot point. The part re: Altonwood he was entitled as the sole owner of the club to what he wanted...as fans we have a fickle view as to our entitlement to our club and how its run...but unless we find ourselves in a position where we actually own it. Paying ticket prices does not give us that right...certainly not now when it's a far lower proportion of the clubs revenue than it was even 10years ago. As I said...people will have their own reasons to deny him any sort of credit...but not me.
