Have a friend who travels back to pakistan. The whole country sounds awful.

I reserve the right to subsequently post more material after i've given an intention to sign off you knobhead.

All your rant did was to show you care more about punctuation than you do about Muslim cruelty to innocent people and animals.

And it was good to see Stirling making you look the uninformed muppet on Islam that everyone knew you were!

Good stuff Stirling.

It's not punctuation, it's etymology and semantics.

So if you want to look an uninformed knobhead (your words back atcha), carry on.
Additionally, Stirling went off on one because I'd mentioned that I found a self confessed liberal Muslim radio presenter who was an interesting listen. He also couldn't tell the difference between seem and are.

I went off on one because you produced a classically annoying post which pretty much sums up why so many Islamic reformers are so frustrated with so many on the left.

Then you name checked Nawaz....who indeed is a liberal but importantly also a critic of mainstream Islam and a caller for reform.

You cited him but you obviously don't know his views because you yourself...like most on the ideological left are overtly silent on the problems within mainstream Islam....You said some time ago that you'd check out this area but you never mentioned it afterwards...just fobbing me off I imagine.

Nawaz is a hero out there....Yet it's typical that you didn't even know of him until this thread.

I wouldn't have brought him up if I'd never heard of him surely. I know it's late Stirling, but...

You also said God, you actually think I don't know about Nawaz. Really? I never inferred whether you knew him or not. Stop making things up to paint me in a bad light. I was the bloody agitator behind the 'free the lincolnshire one' campaign. Didn't bloody complain about me sticking up for people then did you?

Anyway, this is about blasphemy in pakistan where a crowd stood by whilst someone was killed for being a Humanist. An awful awful thing. How complicit were the crowd in the unfortunate chap's death? Is standing by and not helping whilst a crime like this is happening common?

Don't you know about the blasphemy law in pakistan? If the state don't get you the mob often does.

If you did you might understand why people are unlikely to get in the way of mob 'justice'. Here's a couple of gems from their law books.

'Crime'
Defiling of Quran.

Penalty
Imprisonment for life

'Crime'
Use of derogatory remarks,
spoken, written, directly
or indirectly, that defiles
the name of Muhammad

Penalty
Mandatory Death and fine

Even if they wanted to with a harsh, corrupt and unreasonable justice system people just don't get involved.
