Unbelievably talented player but mad as a box of frogs. I remember Steve Coppell wouldn't play him in the 97/98 season. My old man ended up having a beer with Coppell. He told him that Curcic was was by far one of the most gifted players he had ever worked with but his work ethic in training was shocking and he would constantly turn up late. That was the reason we got Sakho from Liverpool.

I might have completely invented this but I'm sure there was a rumour at the time that, as part of his contract negotiations, he requested a different girl to be sent to his apartment every night. Anybody else remember that?
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

I don't think we had signed him until after Coppell left.

I thought he was a deadline day signing then his home debut was against Spurs as a sub. We lost 3-1.

Some in recent times have been excused because of weak leadership/no leadership/turmoil etc. Similar to back then. I think Sasa would've thrived in today's football with holding midfielders. He'd have walked into our team today as a number 10.
