Pre internet days, following the Palace from down under was not easy. Don't recall it even on telly in those days, we only got the Final.

I certainly blinked twice at the score in our newspaper the morning after before the realisation of a Palace cup final hit me.

Since seen the highlights many times over, certainly confirmed my love affair with our mob. Might watch them again.

A central defender with pace as well, which was pretty rare back then!!
I just remember one of his earliest games flying into a crunching tackle right in front of us down the front in the new stand, and he jumped up and dived straight into another one as the ball rolled loose and he left both opponents laying in a heap on the floor!! That was it for me, hero worship from then on!!
