If I claimed I follow and support ex Palace players I'd be lying. I might be interested in how they're doing more than years ago now that the money can set you and your family up for life is so huge that you'd be a fool to turn it down or not prefer to have your agent put feelers out there so I don't blame them. But there's a difference in following and supporting someone and showing an interest.

I follow and support Palace. I show an interest in how past players are doing. Excellent, good, average, bad, whatever. 'Support' them? What? I don't wish any bad fortune on them but I don't support them.

At last. The voice of reason has appeared!

Like I say, it's The Palace I support and have done for more years than I care to remember.

I've confessed my love for Allardyce more than thrice on here but once he fcuks off/gets the old tintack then I won't care about him either.

It's The Palace you should always support.
Not the staff.

You could at least be grateful for the bucket loads of money he'll raise for the club in a transfer fee

Ah, by extension I must be the voice of unreason.

Do you know, I didn't appreciate that Sam Allardyce was born in Thornton Heath, you learn something new every day.

And of course, if the players are the staff that makes us the customers. Or alternatively we are the lifeblood of a club that pulls us together as a community, make your choice.

I didn't understand what you said but I appreciated it.

Seen this so many times before.

Palace player comfortable at Palace. Is big fish in little pond. Moves to big pond and doesn't achieve anything of note.

Who knows what will happen but this season he's been excellent, so far versus the lesser teams. More big teams coming up where we and they will be watching to see if he really has it or if the too good for us means he's good enough for Southampton.

Didn't this happen to a guy named Zaha??!!!!

Correction.

He chose The Igory Coast after waiting for ages on England and then realising it wasn't going to happen.

He chose to leave to Man Utd but wasn't ready, good enough, whatever. Now he's getting better he'll want to go at some point.

Our best hope, Rudi, is that he thought it through and decided to go for his roots. Big mistake in my view but I am not him. Apply that at club level.........
Oh, and is it just coincidence why we have seen such a sudden improvement in him or has our new management, coaching got something to do with it.

Luckily I think he is only massively rated on here. Think it will take a brave manager to throw a load of money at a player that is great to watch for the fans , but unpredictable, doesn't get enough goals for his position and who flopped when he had his chance in a 'big pond' .
If we stay up I can see him being offered an improved contract with a few rumours but no firm bids from elsewhere.
'Too good for Palace'? , don't think so.

His improved performances started at the beginning of the season. He was 1 player 'super' Al improved. Jimmy held the rest together by himself without any help.
