It was a worn black leather one with about 60 quid in it. I paid for the return postage out of it.

Christ, back in '79!! And someone returned it? Fair play to both of you.

Hi Michael,
Have you posted this before?
As a 9 or 10 yr old I found a wallet I think in selhurst rd after a game at Selhurst park. It was dark and me and a friend I think tried to keep it a secret from my dad who I think must have been with us.

The plan was to buy a scalectrix with the money inside. When your a kid in those days anything above a pound looked like a fortune. I assume that my dad found out about the wallet, as my parents were not together and I'm not sure how I would have hid it from him. I did get a scalectrix and I assume that the wallet may well have been sent by my dad back to you - as that's the sort of thing he would do. I can't take any credit for it

I did return somebodies wallet I found later on in life, but as a 10 yr old I did not have the moral fibre to do so. I will mention this to my dad the next time we speak. As it was such a long time ago I think our memories become a bit selective over time, but it is definitely a big memory of going to games at Palace in the 70's

It was me. I found it.
I believe there is a £50 reward pending...times inflation...I'm not very good at juggling mental arithmetic but according to my Sinclair calculator you owe me £3,150.53p. Give or take. Those Sinclairs were never that reliable.
Thanking you in advance.

Good on ya Wilf.
The world should see a goal like that.
Wilf is Wilf. Not another Hazard or anyone else.
His best fit? Who knows. Where ever he ends up in the summer he's been brilliant for us and we have been privileged to have him working his brilliant magic for us. Hope it's with us but if not there's no hard feelings to be had. Palace will go on and we should all be proud.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
