It was a worn black leather one with about 60 quid in it. I paid for the return postage out of it. Christ, back in '79!! And someone returned it? Fair play to both of you.

When your a kid in those days anything above a pound looked like a fortune. I assume that my dad found out about the wallet, as my parents were not together and I'm not sure how I would have hid it from him. I did get a scalectrix and I assume that the wallet may well have been sent by my dad back to you - as that's the sort of thing he would do. I can't take any credit for it I did return somebodies wallet I found later on in life, but as a 10 yr old I did not have the moral fibre to do so. I will mention this to my dad the next time we speak. As it was such a long time ago I think our memories become a bit selective over time, but it is definitely a big memory of going to games at Palace in the 70's
