serial thriller The Promised Land 20 Mar 17 2.38pm | |

Dont know if anyone else caught Simon Amstells new comedy on iplayer, but i thought it was probabky one of the best satires ive seen in years. But it raises some really, really interesting questions too. Couldthe potential for bioengineered food, coupled with the devastating effects of industrial farming, lead us to a place where we actually cooporate and protect animals as a species? As a vegan of two years i obviously connected a lot to his atgument, but i was interested to see if anyone who watched and who wasnt vegan thought likewise. Thoughts?
If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4 |

People would still keep cows for leather unless they started bio-engineering bondage gear.

I just finished watching it too and thought it was a brilliant movie... am vegan too though so dunno whether our meat eating fiends will like it as much... liked Amstell's (who's also a vegan)tweet after it was over... Thank you for watching Carnage this evening. You know what to do. Yeah, good movie and recommended.. it's funny and vegans/meat eaters will laugh at it and think a bit... did a good job getting the right balance... Here's a link to the trailer and here's the film: Anyways a great movie...
Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping. Hubert Reeves |
