Testament to the quality of his songs that they've been covered by Meatloaf, Rolling Stones, AC/DC and tonnes of others.
Jailed for armed robbery, hairdresser, taking a 14 year old over the state border and the camera in the ladies toilets of his restaurant. Quite rock and roll in most aspects of his lifestyle.

He was still doing gigs up to 2008, but they were probably only 30-45 minutes long. And he liked to be paid cash-up-front , if you please.

I disengage, I turn the page.

i don't think he needs testament to the quality of his songs. especially not from the fact that they were covered by anyone that came after him. they all wish they were chuck berry, to be honest

He was actually recording a new album, entitled "Chuck".

Not really a rock n roller myself but I would love to hear what he had done so far.

Sad news - but on the bright side, I had him in the celebrity death list.
