The narrative is that McClaren is an excellent coach but not that good as a manager but he did win the Eredivisie with Twente.

Regards QPR, they finished a lowly 16th last season, have had to deal with the FPP fine and all McClaren has brought in are 2 'Frees' one of which is nearly 36 so his hands do appear to be tied.

So play dull, mundane, back to the wall football, similar to what we played under Peter Taylor or even when we had the likes of Clint Hill etc bullying people.

You'll finish an unspectacular 15th, maybe even flirt with relegation but you won't ship 7 goals.

There is seriously no excuse for a team like QPR to ship 7 goals to anybody in the Championship. That has to be on McLaren.

Whether Mc Laren is a good coach or not ( personally speaking I don’t think he is) From a coaching/ managers side when you see the team shipping in goals ie when QPR went 3 : 1 down you change the formation of the team or by bring on subs, denfenders/ midfielders to stop the other team exposing the weakness. By all accounts QPR have been horrendous since he took over, The man is clueless he didn’t know what to do after Rangers went 2:1 down let alone 4,5,6,7:1 down
As regards to McLaren who brought in a 36 yr old that was his choice there are a lot of free players out there that he could have brought in.
The FFP fine of £42m, that has nothing to do with McLaren that is down to the owner of QPR and the board.

Sometimes I really wonder if family are really worth it.
Because it doesn’t matter how time and affection you give
It’s never enough
