Couldn't agree more. Townsend's goal an example of Benteke drawing defender giving Andros the space to score. All round good performance by all Palace players yesterday.

I appreciate Benteke's value to the team.

The TEAM won 0-2, which had a lot to do with Benteke drawing defenders. I can't recall him missing many where he's had a better than 50% chance. He's a BIG part of our current success. He works his socks off too - despite looking relaxed (fooling a lot of the less discernable posters on here), and he gives 90+ minutes and keeps himself fit and hungry. Why oh why people want to try and upset his confidence by posting rubbish on this 'FAN' sight beggars belief. His problem as a Palace striker has been no different to all the others (such as Gayle, Murray etc) who we can all see are very competent strikers - he doesn't get fed the ball as he should. There were plenty of times in our last few matches where he should have been fed the ball but wasn't. He is frustrated with that and so he should. Accurate - thank you. Accurate according to you maybe but this is a forum of opinions thank God not all the same. You have made some fair points about Benteke but he is not working his socks off. His general game has improved due IMO to the addition of PVA, Luka and Sakho allowing Sam to get the balance in the side a whole lot better thus helping Benteke. For me as a FAN he still needs to do more and live up to the price tag and wages. He has improved but then he had to. I want to see him reproduce the form that he displayed at Aston Villa which prompted Liverpool to pay £32m for him and not a continuation of the form that prompted them to sell him quite incredibly for the same money. Under Allardyce hopefully he will and if he wants his next big move as has been rumoured then it will serve both parties for him to do so which, is a win/win. Need to do more Christian....keep at it!
