Norwegian media today reports that he is going on loan to Viking Stavanger. Good news for my local Norwegian team who badly needs his goals. Then back to Selhurst for the next premier league season

A chance to prove himself at a fairly good level

I hope he does well but from the times I've seen him play for Ghana, he has looked quite poor and I doubt he will play for us again

Watched his games on loan for Notts County with high hopes coming from palace, and he struggled with lower league football, never got a sniff!!

It's difficult to understand why we bought him in the first place, but a whole lot harder to work out why he's still here.

Like many teams in the top flight, I suspect he was bought with a view that we could make him into a better player and sell him on for a profit to a lower league team. If he turned out to be the next Ian Wright then that would have been a bonus but there is probably money to be made from plucking non-league players out of nowhere and loaning and selling them on to teams in the leagues below us.

I suspect the same will be true of Anderson and Ladapo in time

I wonder how much profit a top flight club needs to make to fully offset their investment of time and money into that player's development. Especially when factoring in the percentage of players that just get released for free.

You make some good points, but he's 27 this year and has been here for over five years; you'd have thought that someone might have noticed by now that he's probably not up to much.
