Never liked him, never wanted him as our manager, but I hope he keeps us up.

Allardyce claims that this is the best team that he has inherited. Could it be that the players are or think they are too good for his prehistoric methods. Do or die tomorrow. The atmosphere will be toxic if things go badly again. We could well have another manager before the end of the season. One thing is clear. He needs to get the fans onside very, very quickly.

I am not so sure that Allardyce himself hasn't deserted Palace, and not just his effect. If you watch yesterday's press conference he looked distracted, untidy, unshaven and uninspired. He was negative about everything and blamed the players for not listening to his tactics. The body language was awful and it said to me that he is tired, doesn't want to be here, doesn't need to be here and doesn't really care too much if he isn't for much longer. He looked as though he now realises that he needed a longer break after the England debacle and that another at Palace is going to see his reputation badly damaged. A resignation after another defeat today seems possible to me. I hope I am wrong and that it was all an act designed to ensure the players respond. We all live in hope.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

We know his methods are proven but only if the players are not shrinking violets which he has probably found ours to be
