With regard to the Gulf War of 1990-91 its not clear why they packed up 150 miles from Baghdad. Just think how things could have been different but its all history.

They could have finished Sadaam in 1991 its hotly debated still in the USA but it didnt happen. No exit strategy you are spot on IMO.

Iraq would have had the same problems. Which is also one of the reasons why they didn't want to do it. Had they done so, Iraq would have collapsed into a three way civil war, with the Kurdish, Shia and Sunni factions cutting out their own territory. The only difference would be that the Sunni factions would have been heavily backed by Syria.

They were both leaders after all. Your moral worthiness has been registered. Quite frankly, I think that being complicit in the deaths of thousands should result in one having a somewhat smaller flatscreen in your cell than a nonce. Oddly though, only one is even in prison.
