Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Do you guys have any advice? How can I do a better job? Sell them Puncheon, Ward, Kelly, Ledley and maybe Delaney.

Hey Midlands Eagle, thanks for posting your points on here but I wanted to reply to a couple of your points. Firstly Perspective and opinion are more or less the same thing they are both viewpoints of a particular issues. So no I was not confused. Many fans of other teams and former players and rival players rate us for our atmosphere and passion. I am extremely proud of this and wont talk it down. I agree were not well none outside of the UK. This is simply because we dont play in Europe in big tournaments. So little platform to build though we do have many overseas fans. In my opinion the more the merrier. I agree with the nonsense of booing and banners and taunts about who wears the shirt. Not helpful, not clever and not Palace. The point of my post was to point this out to be fair and encourage some positivity. We as fans need to get back to doing what we do well, hard and sometimes futile task as this is the players and the club need us too. Again granted out form is awful and I dont deny it. However i feel strongly that we are more than capable of beating teams around us and midtable with some confidence and a few results I am sure we will. But denting their confidence when things dont go our way and using them as whipping boys for our frustration is detrimental. I dont think I said that Swansea and Leicester are better than their results. I said we were better than them on our day and can be again. I was making the point that they will be as scared of us as we are of them and we have a duty to put the fear of god into them when we meet. Originally posted by Midlands Eagle
Please don't confuse your personal opinion with "perspective" as they are not the same thing. If you honestly think that we have the best fans in the business that are famous the world over then you are living in cloud cuckoo land. Surely all players will claim that their fans are the best and ours are often rated as amongst the loudest in England but I would guess that Crystal Palace are amongst the least known Premiership clubs outside of our own country. Would the best fans in the world boo their own players off the pitch. Would they hold up banners complaining about the manager. Would they hold a banner dedicated to a goalkeeper and claiming how wonderful he is when he isn't actually playing but someone else is who has a fragile state of self belief. Would these supposed best fans in the world continually post on internet forums how player X isn't fit to wear the shirt. "We are not the only awful team out there. We are better than many" The statistics might show that statement to be incorrect too. I don't know the actual figures but I'm sure I heard one of the commentators say recently that we had only one five out of the last forty seven games which is absolutely dreadful. I am still hoping that we will escape relegation but if we do it will be because like Swansea and Leicester which you claim are better than their results, so are we and hopefully we will start to play as we know we can - starting with the next game Edited by Midlands Eagle (15 Feb 2017 7.17am)

We need Man Utd to be assured of Champions League football before the last game of the season - that way we might have a chance of a result up there - always assuming that we are still in the mix by then.

Good Post Midlands Eagle. Sick of hearing how great our fans are and that we are the best when we are far from it. People who say that probably dont go to our games. Agree with this. I had started to 'believe the hype' of our fans but this season has proved me wrong. (This is just home fans btw, can't comment on away) The atmosphere has been pretty average most of the time, poisonous when we are losing, every sideways or backward pass is met by a barrage of moans and abuse. Horrific abuse to individual players, a fan running on the pitch to confront a player who has had a huge contribution in recent years, spitting on players, singing Speroni's name when Wayne Hennessey is down the Holmesdale end, the amount of ridiculous stick Townsend received, which people are backtracking on. Before people start to point fingers at the HF, there may be some of them that do this stuff, but there are plenty other Palace fans too. It's difficult to have great support when the team is doing as badly as we are, but we are just the same as most other clubs, pretty fickle. Even the HF which I love has stopped singing in some games which is sad. The thing that really frustrates me is this god given right fans think they have to scream personal abuse or threaten our own players, without the player reacting at all. It's pathetic and shameful
