I stay in Crystal Palace itself when I come up. Spoilt for choice on the restaurant front there and walking distance to the ground. Don't stay at the Queen's Hotel.

I doff my cap to you all.
I've got a 90 minute drive, and that's way too much at the moment!

Regularly travel up from Holsworthy or Exeter. Meet my son and we usually have a beer in Clifton Arms in Holmesdale road before & after the game. Great atmosphere- even when we lose !!
It can be done in a day reasonably easily too by train if you want to keep the cost down.
10.30 am from Exeter st davids to Clapham junction then Selhurst will get you there by 2.15 on a Saturday. There are earlier trains if you want to get there sooner. Back in Exeter by about 10pm. If you book far enough in advance you can get some great deals from Trainline.

As Kermit said, loads of good places in Crystal Palace. The Alma is a good pub/restaurant and the first you come to if you walk from Selhurst but there are plenty more. The only thing it's lacking is a decent sports pub if you ever feel you can stomach more football after watching Palace, although there are some down towards Gypsy Hill if you're happy to walk a bit further.

Can't comment on any hotels or B&Bs but there are a few on the same road as the Queens.

Is this because it is also known as Hotel Asylum?

I've been told by people who have stayed there the tower hotel next to queens hotel is ok cheap and cheerful.
