Saw something about this elsewhere on the net. There's a pub right by the ground.

The harvester. Trentham lakes apparently you need to get there fairly early though

Im not sure I felt like a thug...it was actually really convenient for me because i had no idea where to go from the train station so i thought id ask on here in the hope they still run these buses.

Been up to Stoke many times.

OB outside the station, were always polite, asked if you knew where the away boozer was.Lay on coaches from outide the boozer straight to the ground with a police escort.
Stewards at the ground were the best i've come across, let you out at half time for a smoke and a beer, then there are coaches to take you back to the station.

A good away day....unless your a thug I spose.

Unless you like being told what to do. I went with 10 people the first year we were promoted. We want to go to a certain pub but your told by police to go to a certain pub and they used the bus service to the ground. We tried to enter the town and the police warned us about potential violence entering the town. If your happy to be told what to do fine. As I got on the bus, the stoke fans were hurling coins at the bus and spitting at it.

I'm resigned to our fate. We're going down, unless some kind of amazing turn around occurs. All I want now is for us to try.

In answer to the OP I have supported Palace for over 40 years and have got used to the ups and downs. Its quite sad that a grown man would not look forward to the weekend because of 90 minutes of football. I think you are taking it way to serious. I love the weekend because i dont have to work, i go football, have a few beers with pals. I spend Sunday with the family. If we win it makes my weekend all the better. If we lose, oh well, there is always next weekend.

I have no problem being told what to do,their knowledge up there is better than mine,if the police warned you about possible violence in town,I think they did you a favour.
As for Stokies lobbing coins and gobbing at the bus, where did that happen..Ob at the pub,OB escort to the ground, the away end is cordened off,OB escort buses back to the station.
Its the Vale up there, that are a big problem in Stokie land.

In the old days at the old 'Victoria Ground' one sometimes had to walk through a graveyard to get to the ground and there were often clashes in this area.
