They don't want that man to succeed and feel he needs to be punished.
They won't believe or admit it but it's a sub conscious decesion.

But they did last Tuesday at Bournemouth....or were they faking the celebrations when Benteke got the 2nd and the relief was palpable?

please tell me what i posted was rubbish...if it was rubbish he

a) wouldav sued the bbc 10 years ago &
b) still be in his dream job of the national team

maybe its because he hasnt got the balls to stand up in court & defend himself due to him being caught with his fingers in the pie?

or would you not like to admit we hired a wrongun as our new manager.

Ok why don't you tell us all exactly which criminal activities Allardyce has been involved in. That should be easy for you shouldn't it, personal experience an' all?

As good as a performance as it was, I think if we'd have let a goal in on 10 mins against bournemouth I don't think we'd have won...every time we let the first goal in, and we know we gave to score at least 2 to win, our heads drop and confidence goes out of the window. The only hope we have now is that the new signings can raise the confidence and get us a couple of wins on the trot. Even if we beat stoke, the players are going to be so nervous against boro were going to need players like Sako and luca to get them going..

Admittedly they're fragile mentally but I was responding to the original suggestion that the players want Allardyce to fail. If they did they wouldn't have executed his plan to 'perfection' as he put it post match.

Exactly. Plus the celebrations for the 2nd goal wouldn't have been anywhere near as intense.

This lot all have contracts expiring:

Joe Ledley
Wayne Hennessey
Martin Kelly
Mathieu Flamini
Fraizer Campbell
Zeki Fryers
Damien Delaney
Julián Speroni
Kwesi Appiah

I'd expect all of them to be playing their b******s off to earn themselves a new contract, whether it be here or elsewhere, but that's far from the case. I'd go so far as to say the only 2 I'd let near the first team are Jules & Flamini which speaks volumes, especially considering Damo's past record for us. I can't help but think that he's reached another "f*** it" point in his career as he had before we signed him - he was retiring back to Ireland at that point & perhaps he's of the same frame of mind now?

My lad was devastated by the weekend's abject failure & I've tried to get him thinking a bit more positively about things. I told him to think of us as a rudderless boat heading toward a waterfall under AP. Now we have a rudder (of sorts) so we need a leader to steer the boat & give the orders with at least 10 others prepared to break their backs rowing against the tide to get us away from the drop.

There were signs at Bournemouth so the potential is there - perhaps the new recruits will be enough to get the others fighting again.

It's getting harder to keep the faith but we have to - if we don't it's game over.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Its all rubbish. They will play for whoever pays them. The trick is getting a manager inside their heads to go that bit further. If Big Sam (there i've said it) is that man we will stay up.

Collymore just likes to make lots of noise, and kid himself he's an expert on football matters.
I am sure the players do care, especially Cabaye who has turned down a big money move to Marseille
