Delighted and really encouraged by last night's result. 'Team Palace' very much prepped and playing with concentrated, tuned-in vigour. The team will need the same degree of application for Saturday's game vs. Sunderland who pulled off commendable defensive display against Spurs last night. My one nagging concern is the number of needless yellow cards being picked up by CPFC players. Agreed, but I was amazed to see that Bournemouth didn't get any. In the first half most of the stupid fouls were Bournemouth, but the ref let them go. Not having a go at the ref, but I think by the time he saw the need to start booking players, it was Palace on the back foot and making all the niggly fouls.

Last night we made the type of cynical fouls that broke up Bournemouth's play that they have done to us a few times. We desperately needed to get a bit more nasty/clever (depends which way you look at it).

All I know is what a f******* difference Wilf makes ... looked to me like the team was wanting to play and win. Confidence just confident can do it.

Irrespective of the reason for incurring yellow cards, the reality is that they do mount with eventual players' suspension on top of the risk of other players being injured, seriously affecting us within remaining key games.

Got a feeling new boy Luka will toughen us up
