I think it's going to take a bit of time for the results to come, like Allardyce said after the first couple of games that we might not pull away till March/April. I didn't think he needed to majorly change things when he first arrived, I think it was a little ill-judged of him to do that but that's what he's doing and we have to get behind that mindset now. Yesterday was an improvement on what we've seen so far under him, the system worked for the most part although Ward is not a wing-back and we missed Zaha as an outlet. If/when we resolve the wing-back roles, plus Zaha returns and Remy gets up to speed, then I think the results will start to come.

I thought Ward did well as did all the starters, until Remy went off we were looking good for at least the point SA would have wanted. Unfortunately the Schlupp cramp cost us that point as well as our weak bench Lee would not be the player to go to to defend a point. Very good signs for the final 16 games SA will keep us up.

Ward did ok as far as defending goes but wing-backs need to be an attacking outlet too, I think thats why we're looking at right sided wing-backs as well as left sided ones.

The fitness issues need to be resolved but results on that front can't come immediately, hopefully another week with Sammy Lee and co and the month they've had under Allardyce will start to pay off. We need our midfielders to be able to finish games, one of the main problems of the Pardew era was losing points after one or more of the midfielders had to go off because they were tired.

I think this has to be one of the most sensible post I've read on here.
