Offensively, probably yes. He has quite a few assists for Newcastle despite playing waay down and he opens play with some great "through passing".
Defensively....Puncheon covers a lot more ground and runs a lot more. He hasn't been used quite right in the last 3 years, his best game was on the wing, using his left foot.

Movement is worth more than skill in today's football, I'd go with Puncheon

I had been going on to people about signing Livermore and now see he has gone to WBA for £10 Mill.
I have memtioned on here about strengthening our "Engine room" - I believe that a Shelvey type player alongside Livermore would have been good for our team.Not impressed with the likes of Ledley,Puncheon and even Cabaye in that vital midfield area not forgetting Mutch etc etc.

With Shelvey PL sides would close him down and prevent him pinging the ball so it became difficult to play his natural game.

Seems to have more space in the Championship.

Far better player than Puncheon.

Fairly sure that not a single championship manager would build their squad round him like Benitez has done with Shelvey.

The ideal player for the current predicament.
