Yeah agreed. Just the whole handling of the situation was terrible really. Stripping him of his captaincy a week before selling him just wasn't on in my opinion. Terrible treatment of an absolute legend. There's no easy way to do it though? The fact is, Jedinak wasn't first choice, therefore it made sense to have the captaincy with someone who was going to play week in, week out. Did Pardew and SP know they were going to get an offer for him at that point? There was certainly no mention of it in the press? From what I can gather he was told face to face what the situation was. I'm not sure how else they could have handled it?

Could have done him the decency of departing as captain. As we did with GT. You could be right though. Just irked me a lot at the time and still does.

Not really sure about that, if you look at it from a one in one out viewpoint, we swapped a 32 year old player who, whilst a hero, had known limitations, for a 32 year old with Champions League experience and got £4m in a transfer fee. I really don't think Pardew was desperate to get rid of Jedinak completely, but as with Murray, we got an offer that we couldn't refuse. I'm not saying it was perfect, the fact that Flamini has only just started contributing is pretty farcical. Just that in August it didn't seem that ridiculous...

Jedi would have given a few pens away and loads more free kicks and we know how well we do against them. Ledley has been hit and miss probably more miss. Jedi not doing very well at Villa. I agree take the cash and play Ledley.

Not doing well at Villa, are you joking? I mean single handedly (yes completely) Stopping Birmingham equalising because he had a brain to not celebrate in a corner. Or maybe Steve saying how much they are going to miss him whilst he plays for Aus, yup he is doing terrible for them. Edited by CPFCwetrust (09 Jan 2017 4.33pm)

Jedi was great for us our best ever pen taker IMO a true leader, he also gives the ball away and makes a lot of fouls. It was the right move to sell him as AP wanted to play a passing possession game, SA would have him in the team for sure.

Edited by CPFCwetrust (09 Jan 2017 4.33pm) Someone posted these comments a couple of weeks ago from a villa forum: sirdennis Massive disappointment. I really thought he would help sort our midfield problems , but he is nowhere near the player I saw playing for Palace. Whether the travelling has taken its toll I don't know , but Gana looked pants last season and is now starring for Everton , so I think it's a mix of Jedinaks decline and the fact that our midfield as a unit is dysfunctional.
Have to say I thought this would prove to be a very good signing ( unfortunately I appear at this stage to be wrong) Legs seem to have gone, leadership qualities questionable .... Disappointing
The only positive that I can see so far regarding our signing of Mile Jedinak, is that the guy cannot be as bad as he looks? Hence, surely things can only get better? Oh yes, he's renowned for his pointing. He's different class. Every time he points I jump out of my seat in expectation.
I personally struggle to bring up the name of any other individual wearing the claret and blue, who offered so little, contributed so little, yet played so many games. It completely baffles me.
I can't believe how poor this guys passing is. It's embarrassing that this guy is apparently a good player and he plays like that
I am absolutely stunned on what we have actually got. No pace, no skill, no hunger. I dont know why he is like that, is it travelling, is it age, is it hunger - I have no idea. The only thing I do know is that he does not deserve a place in our team at the moment, and if that means playing Ashley Westwood, then so be it.
