Congestion will have a significant impact not just physical recovery but as a group. I have to be honest I was surprised at the impact on group synchronisation. it could go some way to explain the first half though See attached.

Yann Le Meur is a highly regarded sports scientist who is great at presenting complex information simply. For those of you interested check out his website [Link]

As for Allardyce, we need to give him a break, I am not saying he can't be criticised on here but start judging him as a manager in February

Well, Tony Pulis said the other day that these millionaire players can't use ' recovery time ' as an excuse for poor performance. Of course, his team have been winning !

Looking back on Tuesday, I have to say ;

1. Were they really tired after playing Arsenal ? Well I guess if collectively running up a white flag requires effort, then I guess they were.

2. First home game under a new manager. Forget ' tiredness ', surely they want to show the new man what they can do ?!

3. We were playing Swansea. Bottom of the league. Been through 2 managers already this season. Shipping goals for fun. And yet we were lucky to still be in touching distance after 45 minutes, better opposition would have been 2 or 3 goals to the good.

I suspect BS is using fatigue as a way of deflecting criticism of his players while he takes stock of the situation.

Once his head has cleared, I think he's in for an unpleasant surprise.

He's inherited an unbalanced squad laced with Championship standard players and expensive under-achievers, who had it too cushy for too long under a management regime that suffered delusions of grandeur. There has been no authentic Leadership on or off the field for some time now in my opinion.

I actually still think we will stay up this season, but it could go to the wire because this is a big job he has on his hands.
