But it isn't just one bad result, is it? Call me a sentimental fool, but I think it was. Palace have had a number of one off bad results. The same players that were doing so well before can do it again. They just need a bit of confidence. It's hard to perform when everyone is howling at you. When I worked as a stripper-gram you wouldn't believe the amount of stick I got. But I kept going, despite all the protests and the restraining orders. And you know what? Well, OK, I didn't get paid, or get any repeat bookings, but I learned something about myself. Respect. Dignity. And the value of hard work.

We have changed manager, bought new supposedly better players yet adding yesterday to parts of the performance against Arsenal was woeful. Players looked un fit, demotivated and we are seeing none of the bounce you might expect upon the arrival of the new manager. Presiding over this car crash is a certain Mr Parish who now the going is getting very tough appears to be losing his way. The appointment of FS seems to have been knee jerk. How many other options were considered in such a short space of time? I am more concerned than ever giving control to one inexperienced man is starting to cost us.

The players. That's what's wrong. Not Pardew, not Allardyce, not the owners but the players. I've read on here about the fitness levels, with all this free time the players have each day and the ridiculous money they earn you would hope they'd have the motivation to go to the gym, go swimming etc rather than having online FIFA competitions. I don't understand all this talk of the players being responsible for their own fitness. Can't Pardew see it and address it? Or just hope it sorts itself out? Sam talking about getting that sorted tells us he's a fixer. Did the last manager just have no authority or influence?
