Was rarely in the hole looking for that pass between the lines of defence and midfield. If he was, when we were attacking in the 2nd half then he was behind an opponent so couldn't be reached. Doesn't he see this sh1t?

And why was he along with half of the team hanging around Benteke on the corner of the box when the player on the ball looking for a pass on the floor in that masssive acre of space where I couldn't see one player between Townsend on the right and Zaha on the left and the spread of 4/5 players including Benteke in that area on the corner of the box? WTF was all that about? The odd long ball is fine with an instruction for someone to get close to CB but it's clearly not the only instruction as the player on the ball was often looking for a pass to a number 10 and seeing zero Palace players anywhere.

Punch started to lose his way a long time ago.

I still maintain that Cabaye and him in the same team doesn't work.

He was an inspiration a couple of years ago.

It's almost sad to watch now.

He was bloody awful tonight.

There were a number of occasions when he was deep within our own half and he'd play a simple ball to the player next to him then stood rooted to the spot. The player receiving the pass would then receive a torrent of abuse for not playing a pass despite not having a decent option. Pass and move, it's an absolute basic.

He spends far too much time flapping his arms about when he felt he'd been unfairly tackles. He needs to be more physical and get on with Th game.

I'm also sure he was being what my old coach used to call a s***house, which is when players make a big movement/lunge/gesture to make it look like the put a lot of effort in to reach a ball/make a tackle but only after the ball had already been lost to try and cover the fact they made no effort at all to compete as they weren't quite up for the fight.

Although, I do think some of the critism should be leveled at our previous transfer dealings as he is the only player in the squad with no competition for his position.

Never looked the same player since we signed Cabaye. Not sure what is going on there but it needs sorting rapidly

Zat right? I wondered if we might pull him off and replace him with Lee.

Thought same - at least would have been a better move than Mulch for Kelly who was actually doing ok with crosses and getting forward.

I watched him closely tonight.....he controls the ball...does a 180 degree turn towards our defence and then plays it towards them.

Now the Swansea midfield controlled the ball and played it forward.

Thought Routledge was excellent tonight....

Exactly that. Controls ball,180, can't think what to do with it, so pass back. Every week same action over & over again. At this level you pause to think & you've lost yr chance. Frustrating

Well he was our manager for 2 seasons and took us from about 17th up to 5th and solid and back down to 17th again, letting basic things slip. Pardew is to blame, so are the players, but the direction comes from somewhere and if it's not coming from the leaders after removing them then pussy excuses after the match and talk of how this group of players is the happiest he's ever seen means nothing if they're losing every week and he's never addressing matters.

His management can be described as slipshod.
