Pickford appears to be injured until Feb 25th.

Sunderland need cash.

Might be possible to snap him up in the cheap enabling Sunderland to have some funds available to spend on in injured players..

Not sure how buying an injured play works though or if it's even possible?

But honestly he's such a great keeper already would be perfect to have alongside Mandanda.

You're suggesting buying an injured keeper, to take up a squad place, alongside Mandanda, who's also injured, and leave Hennessey or Speroni out of the squad? And give Sunderland, one of our relegation rivals, some cash to spend. Are you sure that you've thought this through properly?

i get what your saying, pickford really is already a class goalkeeper and is clearly going to get even better with time but i don't think sunderland would ever sell him to us. They purposely didn't take hart on loan this season just to not interrupt his development. Id like him though

The left-footed Pickford has a very long kick and a feature of his game is the quick release of the ball.Excellent distribution.

2 issues with all this, um he is injured & do we need another keeper??? would have thought a left back is the more pressing need

Sometimes I set out for Ludlow
Sometimes I end up in Chepstow

You don't need your hands for left back ? Seriously no chance of Sunderland selling him, even injured. Also Defoe won't be moving as well, even if they need some dosh to spend.

I think Pickfords next move will be to a top 6 club. He wont come to us and we couldn't afford him and still fix the other gaping holes that we have

I think you are most likely right, would be good though if we could.

As for taking up squad places etc someone mentioned. Yeah I'd sack off mutch of someone in the fringes to get him in the squad and then let Jules retire at the end of the season.

Just think Pickford is an absolutely great keeper and if we could engineer a move it would serve us well in the future.

But totally agree he's most likely going to wait for a big club to come in for him.

Has come on leaps and bounds - I remember him going on loan to both Brad C and Preston not so long ago.At one time he had Pantilimon and Mannone ahead of him at Sunderland.Don't think he is all that tall for a goalkeeper.
