Agree with pete the eagle. In fact go far as to say, West Ham had a good season last, in my view left overs from Big Sam. This year not so good with Mr Bilic.

Got a good feeling about this appointment, loads of points to be proved by the Manager and some under performing players. I think we do need to look at back room staff too. Some of them, if not all need to be reviewed. Think Millen needs some roll, not assistant though, always stood into the breach very well.

So you can't put together a cohesive argument. The only criticism you have is Hodgson's personality.

Hodgson has been far more successful and the one thing that is troubling me about this appointment, doesn't have the threat of an FA investigation hanging over him

Your cohesive argument it seems is that Hodgson has been very successful, sorry but I don't buy in to that. As it been some time since he was very successful? Please enlighten me to all this success he's had recently ?

Sam has proven time and time again he can go in to a football club and turn it around.

Plus I do prefer managers who seem to have charisma as in my opinion modern footballers gravitate to them better than listening to planks.

Hodgson lacks personality and ideas

Sam lacks neither

Sam has been successful in all his recent clubs at the job he was employed to do.

I can't see any reason why someone would bitch about Sams pedigree and use Hodgson as a better example.

It doesn't stack up.

Your welcome to your opinion but I can't see anyone else in this thread agreeing with you..

So maybe your not being cohesive...

Two things I've not said FS is a bad manager, however he is not quite as good as many make out. Hence the short term option being preferable. However look at his record, since Bolton he has been less successful with pretty much an ever decreasing win rate. As acknowledged either in this or another thread, I accept some of that is down to the type of club he has managed. Then again you have to ask why that is the case.

Hodgson was successful at both Fulham and WBA, taking Fulham to a UEFA cup final in 2010.

I would argue for all the ignominy of the Iceland defeat, Hodgson was more successful for England than Allardyce even though the latter has a 100% record.

Plus as I said earlier and it's something you and seemingly a lot of fans are happy to ignore, my biggest concern is that there is still the threat of FA disciplinary action over him, which if it does happen, is a distraction we can do without

If I had to base Hodgson on his spell as england manager I wouldn't want him as a manager.

He looked completely lost for ideas or how to build the best squad and the results weren't exactly 'wow' factor or reflective of a manager knowing what's best nor one which filled the team full of confidence.

That is just my opinion of course.

I'll settle for anybody who will keep us up this year and in Sam that lies.

I wouldn't argue with that but there's many a good club manager that fails at international level and vice versa

Can we have a link to the threat of action over hanging over him from the FA, becuase I thought that was all done and dusted.

Are you saying he may be banned from managering in the PL by the FA?

It's very vague and I'm unable to grasp what you are referring to by threat of action still hanging over him?

Mentioned here, it is well known that the FA are unable to act until after the police investigation. As far as Allardyce goes, he may not face any further action and if he does I have no idea what the sanction will be. Or for that matter when. At the risk of repeating myself, my concern is twofold, he has a whiff of dodgy dealings about him and given our current predicament we can do without any off the pitch distractions.

Anyway, whether I am happy about it or nor, he is our manager now, as with all the others he will get my support
