This also led to dozens of different comic books, novels, video games and all sorts that built on or into the Star Wars mythology. Arguably the Force Awakens / VIII and IX will not be as good as Heir to the Empire or a number of the post-star wars novel trilogies. The Thrawn/Heir to the Empire trilogy was the best of the Star Wars follow ups. But then I'm a geek.
