Watford is so vital. An emphatic, confident victory would underpin two competitive performances against Man U and Chelsea. It would also give us a positive platform for Arsenal and indicate that half the story of being a good football team -- defending -- is being addressed. It would allow Perdu to remind us that he said we would be in a transition year.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

The game against Watford, is a must win and one of the 9 that we need to win to stay up!

Last Xmas, we were 5th in the table and had a significant points cushion. When his head was really on the block, he managed to pull off that decent result against, an albeit jaded-looking, Southampton. He then reverted to type at Hull, but managed to almost contain Man U and Chelsea. He must know he hasn't got much more time to save us or himself and he seems to be able to pull something out of the bag when he's in last chance saloon. He's also well overdue for one of his winning 'streaks'. That's the faint hopes that I'm clinging to anyway. If he fails at Watford and against Swansea he should be toast.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Three Cup Finalists in the last three years have been relegated. Do not want it to be The Palace in the fourth.

Whats that got to do with more moderate resources. Youve already been told twice in this thread that Bournemouth are being investigated for ffp for their promotion season having been bankrolled by their billionaire owner, but your have chosen to ignore it. You have also had stats pointed out to you that you choose to ignore because it doesnt suit your agenda. As for the poor attempt at humour /sarcasm. dont be a t***. Some of our players are worth far more than we paid for them. Like stats do you? Six wins in the league in a calendar year. That't the main stat here. Or how about these? [Link] In that last window our purchases were £50m and Bournemouth's £34m. We spent nearly as much as their whole outgoings on a single striker. We only had lower net spend because we made a killing on Bolasie. They had hardly any players to sell. They were looked at for FFP because more of their spend came from their coffers rather than from sales. Oh, and a lot of people here thought their deal for Wilshere was a ripoff. Your numbers don't add up. And what "agenda"? I don't remember claimng that we were poor in either of our last two games, others have been far more critical of those performances. Against Chelsea we were decent and Pardew did nothing wrong that I could see. In the United game we were also decent most of the time and he made a stupid substitution that (I think) contributed to their winner. I suggest you see a doctor about your blood pressure and stop calling people "t***" just because they don't agree with you. Edited by chateauferret (21 Dec 2016 12.40pm)

I feel we were never going to get relegated with Pardew as manager. Ever at our worst i never felt like it was a possibility.

Interestingly the odds of Palace being relegated have not changed since Pardew was sacked - still at about 9/2 on Betfair. I was and remain confident that we will stay up - I think the squad is good enough and we have not been getting hammered; but need to tighten up the defence. I was supportive of Pardew staying - but he's gone now and I will get behind whoever comes - even big Sam who I have never been a fan of.
