Wilf was playing well until that incident & his reaction was far more than anyone could expect for a poor refereeing decision- given the intensity of the tantrum he threw & the time it went on for something else had to be the cause - my guess is that either the ref or one of the Chelsea players said something bang out of line (something that clearly rattled him) if it was one of the Chelsea players that said something the ref must have heard it too otherwise it was a clear bookable offence for that length of argument.

Agree but we will probably never find out

I think that part of our problem at the moment is a lack of backbone/bravery/savvy in the team. Where is the Thomas /Gray /Ninja /Jim /Derry /Hughes /Kellard /Hill /Jedinak at the moment? There is Delaney - and that is all. Really? Getting sent off would have been demonstrating his ability as a captain? His reaction is exactly what I would want from a leader on the pitch.

I'm amazed that he wasn't booked considering the length of time it went on for. Something must have been said by someone to wind him up so much. The ref went out of his way to not book him which is very strange these days. ..which means he must have said something and then being in the wrong could not stop him or book him like I said earlier.

No one gets that angry over a free kick given against him, it went on for so long I thought maybe something was said. The ref not booking him after such a protracted rant didn't make sense, it was a strange one. ..all points to the ref having done something doesn't it, because he would have just sent him off, plain and simple.

Maybe keeping Zaha away from the left wing would have helped , he obviously coped the hump after being asked to changed sides .

i dont know what was said to him but it must have been bad for him to react like that. there no way that was just about the decision given against him.

Agree but we will probably never find out ..Zaha caused the freekick against us so he would have been upset about that but to then continue moaning about a decision already made the ref has to do something, he didn't so something must of been said to him, if it was a Chelsea player the ref would have spoken to both of them about it and warned Zaha to cut it out now, he didn't which left the ref standing all alone because he wasn't able to do anything to warn Zaha away.

Absolute bollocks. It's hardly inconceivable that it may have been a catalyst. I mean it went on for flipping ages, and despite having legitimate grounds for protest, he appeared to completely lose the plot (with everyone and whilst on live TV). His input on the game after this moment was minimal which was the biggest shame of all.
