I did not go yesterday but thought that Punch was man of the match against Southampton setting up our third goal. Can't understand why anyone would be pleased that one of our key players is out. Who in our richly endowed squad is going to replace him?

I would rather Wilf miss this one Rojo is a dirty player. Punch is so much better further forward Lee can take his place Wednesday.

While we all have our different views and opinions , and I respect that, I have to say this is up there with the most moronic threads I've read on HOL over the last 15 years.

Some people clearly form opinions without going to games Excuse me. Some of us live hundreds or thousands of miles away and have to make do with iffy streams and the like. Probably some people in far-lung corners of the globe can't even get that. If the great Poo-Bah manages to take us down to the Championship our chances of watching matches will vanish like the morning mist. These matters are not under our control. Does that mean we're not entitled to opinions?

Maybe I should shxx-up too. Live in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand and are just able to watch (almost every) game live via bein sport. In perfect sound/picture quality - even clearly hear Glad All Over and sees the lovely Crystals when players are coming out for the home games. With English commentators and lot of cameras showing incidents from many possible angles. Feel I have a reasonable background to comment though and on Saturday the whole team except Wilf was "underperforming". Like MacArthur's stupid (and unnecessary) yellow card right in front of the man supposed to be a PL ref....

I don't really mean to pick on just one of our under performing players, but Punch is really under performing. I hope Jimmy is fit for Wednesday and with the very limited options open to AP, we need 2 massive performances in the next 2 games. I would name Punch, Cabaye, Kelly and Townsend as needing to step up and show that they are good enough. Players like Chungy, Mutch and Sako are always going to be fringe players, so until we can buy better players, the current so called "best eleven" will have to improve, or the results against the poorest teams will continue, and the best teams will tear us apart.....rant over!! Wally Of The Week award for you. Not even close.
Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it.. |

If you think Puncheon is under performing what must you think of Townsend's efforts?

this Punch is one of our best players along with Benteke, Wilf and McArthur. He was playing well yesterday for the first 10 minutes when he was playing further forward, don't know why Pardew changed it.

Injuries aplenty, playing badly and one of our better players is suspended when Manchester Utd roll into Town just itching to give someone a hiding.
