Really! nearer the area than the touchline and no player between him and the goal (apart from the keeper)you can defend him all you like but everyone else on here and every neutral who I have spoken to says he cocked up big time. As I pointed out at the time, moreover, through these two decisions, by the half-hour mark Clattenburg had made it clear to our forwards that they could take their game strategy and shove it where the Sun never shines. That's their opinion - I dont agree with it one jot. Yes I have commented on the decisions looking at them from a referee's point of view. I'm not going to regurgitate what I said - you will have to trawl back to the original post. Edited by Willo (12 Dec 2016 10.42pm)

He was way out on the left, so it certainly wasn't a "Clear goalscoring opportunity". I have already passed comment on this and expressed these same sentiments so nothing more to add.No point re-gurgitating all of this. Yes, Wickham was on the left but kept the ball (why not use the advantage rule) and put the ball in the net. Not a "clear scoring opportunity" my a..s

Absolutely disgusting. He is a cheat. Simple as that. Diving is the cancer of football and it will continue until the FA can grow a pair and start bringing in retrospective penalties. After this and Deli Ali last weekend, how many kids are playing on Sunday morning, after watching MOTD, thinking that it is acceptable and trying it themselves? For incidents as blatent as these, there should be a 3 match ban plus a deduction of 2 weeks wages. The FA need to stamp it out, what is preventing them? May not be quite so harsh as you suggest, but this is on the BBC today. Now it's a long way from being implemented, but a 2 match ban (as was handed out in Scotland) would go some way towards stamping this out. Have to accept that Wilf might get caught out at least once a season . . . Also like the suggestion that only the captain can talk to the referee, although in a Chelsea v Man U game it would then end as a 3-a-side game . . .
“My experience of life is that it is not divided up into genres; it’s a horrifying, romantic, tragic, comical, science-fiction cowboy detective novel. You know, with a bit of pornography if you’re lucky." |

In the case of Man U it's the captain who's the problem. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the referee, never mind whispering sweet nothings in Clattenburg's ear for 90 minutes.
