There is clearly no certainty about what I'm about to say, but I am adamant that Pardew is not a bad manager and believe he deserves not only the transfer window to turn our misfortunes around but until the end of the season to see where it takes us. Yes, he is not blameless, but the injuries this calendar year have been horrendous. No sooner have we seemed to have temporarily sorted our defensive unit out, Tomkins then gets injured to give us another problem at full back. What I find encouraging, is that on many occasions this season we have started well only to fall behind against the run of play or dodgy ref decision like today. Today we fell sorry for ourselves because of that and offered nothing else in the first half. Not for the first time, Pardew has done a good half time job and not only got us back into the game, but then go on to look like we'll take the 3 points if only we could hold on to the lead. As much as Pardew deserves criticism for this and our defensive performances, he deserves credit for our attacking strengths which has been scoring for fun this season. I also think the unfortunate injury to Souare should not be underestimated on its affect on the goals against column. This has clearly made us weaker defensively and although I don't think solely the reason for the defensive collapse, it has been a major factor and AP should be given the window to try and get the personnel in to improve this area of the team. There is nothing to suggest that the the second half of this season could not be like the first half of last season. Parish clearly believes in AP, and seeing as Parish hasn't got a lot wrong since he's been here - I feel that if you're finding it difficult to have any faith in AP, then SP certainly deserves the faith and belief.

Whatever, pointless sacking him before Man U and Chelsea games. 2 defeats for a new manager and we'all be calling for the new manager to be sacked. Fickle lot. When has supporting Palace been any different to what it is now? I guess a lot of our new PL supporters don't remember that though.

What I object to from the team is the continued shocking defending. Where I would blame the club more broadly is in not recruiting another full back of center half during the summer. It has been obvious for ages we are short at the back. Edited by NickinOX (10 Dec 2016 9.51pm)

You can excuse bad fortune here and there but you can't when it's 90% of games over a calendar year or even just the last 7 or 8 games. It's pathetic. Other teams have problems and deal with it. Even with a strong team out he poorly prepares us. He's inadequate and hopefully Parish will have been speaking to someone over the last week away from Pardew taking advantage of the gift from Southampton and that cringeworthy thumbs up. What could Parish do? Blank him?

Great post mate. Super Al is definitely the right man for the job. We will finish comfortable mid table.

Edited by The Dolphin (11 Dec 2016 7.23am) No , he's probably based it on the 300 PL games he has already managed.
