Gary Rowett's sides are very well organized, and he did a great job at Burton and Birmingham.

I agree about Quique Flores. Good but unlikely. Roger Schmidt was under pressure at Bayer Leverkusen, and Dirk Schuster has done well too, despite being sacked. He was fired after going four games without a win, and with his team in mid table!

Otherwise, Peter Stoger of FC Koln.

There are a couple of managers in Spain who look good too, but I cannot see my choice (currently managing Sevilla) coming to Palace.

Other names I'd be happy to see considered: Mauricio Pellegrino; Fran Escriba; Eduardo Berizzo; Jose Luis Mendibilar.

They've all had organized sides, and have done well with small to medium sized teams.

I don't know a great deal about most of those except Pellegrino, but 'organised sides' sounds appealing. I like what I've seen and read about Rowett and I think the owners at Birmingham were barmy. It certainly didn't work out too well for them against our south coast friends yesterday. Chucking away a lead at home in the last 10 minutes and ET sounds familiar though.

Both Rowett and Schuster are available and I don't think they will be unemployed for long.

Before the Swansea game I had called for AP to be given until Christmas. However, the crass ineptitude of that match--when AP had called for a tightening at the back and after he said he'd matured as a manager--made me think he's not changed and nor will he. That is why I don't think he's the man to carry the club forward, even if I don't think we'd get relegated with him.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

I agree with all of that, but it's very late in the day now for a managerial change, especially as it wouldn't happen until after Watford of even Swansea. As I said on another thread, we've got ourselves in a right cleft stick here.

I would have sacked him after Swansea, or first thing tomorrow morning after I'd lined up Schuster or Rowett to come in. That would at least give them a week with the team before the Watford game.

I'm just crossing my fingers that I'm wrong. I suspect SP is waiting for the window and new players before he makes his call. I'm not sure that is the right choice. But, I'm not in charge.

I don't know what he has to do to get his P45, but it doesn't look like he's going anywhere soon. I hope you're right that he's just good enough not to relegate us.

I genuninely think we'll stay up. But I still think he should go. It is the lack of pragmatism or the signs of managerial maturity that worry me. He is a chancer, and that means we'll always have runs similar to this. They are the hallmark of his career, and his comments about learning appear to be just that: comments. As such, we are rarely going to be in a position to play youngsters without too much risk to our league status. That means the long term plan to develop our own talent is perpetually going to be on hold.

I have it from a reliable source inside the club that AP ha two games to sort it out then he may have to go. He still has the players behind him and they are as distraught as he is. They want him to stay. The thought of having him replaced by a dinosaur named Hodgson is a nightmare and will not help one little bit. Coleman has not proven himself in a league and will not be an improvement. Unfortunately fat Sam seems the only viable option to keep us from relegation. Who else is there????

Really don't see the point in getting rid of AP, to replace him with Fat Sam.

It is now four games, since your reliable source gave you this gem.
Maybe you can ask him what is going on!

I have heard from a reliable sauce that pardew will be staying for ever as he has some dodgy photos of certain members of the board, so whilst we all whine and moan he will be sitting in his mountain hideaway stroking his white cat....god i am so bored of this

I have it on good authority (well, just as good as others) that Fat Sam has turned us down already.....
..... our pies are nowhere near good enough.....

I also have it on very good authority that Pardew & Southgate are the same person, never see them together do you?

Huge throw of the dice in my opinion where we are. Good potential but no PL experience. Possibly a start of the season appointment. Judging by previous appointments I can't see beyond an established PL name such as Fat Sam, Hodgson, Hughton (possibly kill 2 birds with 1 stone here) etc. if Pards goes.
