The signings were good and strengthened us. Defensively, maybe Tomkins coming in has unsettled things at centre back and Kelly should have been tried there. However, last season we just couldn't score goals so in his defence, at least Pardew has rectified that by making us the FOURTH highest goal scorers in the league!

And the SECOND highest number of goals conceded. .26...13 from set pieces...17 in the last 5 games. ..great

Wouldn't have mattered either way. If we would've got Wilshire he would've been injured because of Pardew. We're in a no win situation(pun intended).

This is all to do with Pape injury, Cabeyes indifferent form at start of season and Danns injury.

And then replacing a left winger with a right winger.

We have no left sided players of decent back up quality and its hitting us hard.

We didn't miss jedi last season so don't know why some fans say we're missing him this . This is all to do with the above for me.

No left side in attack or defence.

Jedi was in the dressing room or there on the bench. These players would have had their balls ripped off by Jedi the way they're playing. It's Jedi's tough leadership that's missing along with Delaney's too. This team needs a captain.

The only positive thing is that it's only November. However, the worrying thing is that the defensive back up is paper thin. I didn't think that Pape's absence would affect us as much as it has. Pardew mentions that there has to be changes, but who is he going to bring in to shore up the defence? The defence is practically the same as last year so I don't understand how we've gone from being one of the most solid at set pieces to the leakiest defence in the league?
