He turned a team playing brilliant attacking football into one that was dull and defensive, we lost six away games 1-0 and he mucked about with Wilf and Yannick causing them to be ineffective after Christmas. Yes, he finally got his mojo back in the play offs but it was touch and go. I also found him to be quite surly post match

Actually we lost 4 'Away' games 1-0, at Burnley, Huddersfield, Sheff Wed and Blackpool.

We did to into the Play-offs on a bit of a wobble, only winning 1 of our previous 10 games and that was the last of them, 3-2 at 'Home' to Peterborough. We drew 5 of those games, including 3 'Home' draws against Leeds, Barnsley and Leicester.

Bu we did beat Brighton in the play-offs and went up that season ! Goal in the final of course scored by Kevin Phillips whom Holloway signed.

We were flying high and aiming to consolidate an automatic promotion place when he took over but then started to slip downwards despite Holloway saying that this team was so good that they didn't need a manager as they managed themselves.

We went from being strong contenders for the automatic spot to only scraping in to the playoffs by the skin of our teeth

That's how I recall it - really, he didn't need to do anything but his ego meant he kept trying to change the way the wingers were operating and we nearly slipped out of the top 6.
Takes some credit for the Brighton result but the final we were lucky Watford didn't turn up - which they have a habit of doing.

I was really pleased when he joined and thought we'd got a massive upgrade on Freedman but I quickly tired of him and agree he's much more entertaining as someone else's manager.

Nice to hear him on Talksport this morning with Jim White at around 10.00am. You would have thought he would be busy on the training ground meeting/coaching his new team on his first day at the club.. Then again, Ian never did do a lot of that. Why change a winning formula.

I don't listen to Talksport but wonder if the interview might have been pre-recorded

I love how just because we were in 2nd or 4th place before Holloway took over, we would have obviously carried on with the same form and obviously would have finished 2nd or 4th!?

Lots of teams struggle after a good run, we were awful at the start of that season I believe, so why the assumption that we would carry on with the same form

We did have a good team, But I would suggest the squad wasn't great. He did change tactics, but when you pretty much have only one goal scorer in Murray, then maybe this was a good idea, just in case he got injured or had a run of bad form

I hate to agree with Willo, but I don't understand why he isn't appreciated more, he got us promoted and beat Brighton in the play offs!

Massively entertaining as a pundit, huge amounts of enthusiasm but as a manager not for me. I haven't looked at the QPR forums but I doubt they are too impressed. I know I wouldn't be.

A lot of radio shows now have presenters that aren't even in the same city never mind studio. I think talk sport do this a fair bit with guest co-presenters. BBC do it a lot since they moved oop north

He may have been at the ground.

the dignified don't even enter in the game
