No one's mentioned the pin-up that was David Hopkin. Steve Thompson is way down the pecking order but wasny bad. Roy Barry was a class act - I remember him as the only player to not fall apart during a 0-2 home defeat to Fulham when we got relegated in '74 - we'd beaten them at the Cottage with Bobby Moore et al a few weeks previous on Easter Monday - when Peter Taylor tore them apart in the first half - that I think was when PT really arrived. We won 3-1. The 0-2 v Fulham was the second worst performance I've ever seen by Palace - worse was a 0-3 to Coventry in '81 - bit like Brazil 1 Germany 7 or England v Iceland - not just bad, a collective nervous breakdown when decent players suddenly attain the skill levels of their grandmothers. Bit like Scotland now actually.

Bit like Scotland now actually. ;) Good call. Apart from his Wembley goal I will always remember the one he scored at Wolves in play offs I think.
