There are rumours that the reason why Wilshere turned down a loan at Palace was he didn't fancy the competition for places... Williams, Wickham, Remy, Campbell, Tomkins....

The treatment room was already fully booked.

The audiences in Bielfeld are giggling right now.

I've never rated the guy from the start and I bet Sunderland couldn't believe there luck at the money we paid for him.

Problem is with him out that leaves our striker options as Fraizer Campbell if, God forbid something happened to Benteke.

I think the Martin O'Neil quote that someone mentioned earlier is the perfect way to describe Wickham.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

No mention of an injury at all at Pardew''s press conference. Only injured person mentioned was Mutch.

That's because the injury occurred in the final training session on Friday - after the press conference. And it was Puncheon that AP mentioned as injured. Nobody knows where Mutch is!!

None is this is fair. The guy is quality and was looking great in preseason. As soon as he hits form we sign a world class striker and he's stuck on the bench every game.

Connor Wickham is a very good striker. Hopefully he'll get to show that with us:

A lot of players seem to get injured very easily when then play for us.

Just a crazy thought but maybe it's got something to do with training at Palace. There was a similar problem at Newcastle when Pardew was there.....coincidence ?

Pardew wasn't at Sunderland with Wickham, Chelsea with Remy or West Ham with Tomkins. Also Joniesta gets injured no matter who's in charge. Apart from that you may have a point.

So, what is your evidence for this?

So he should be, he's not fit enough to clean Beneteke's boots.

Wickham has been a very poor signing , has showed very limited glimpses of what he can do. Overall not consistent enough and injury prone. Let's make space for someone else in January and cut our losses.

So ridiculously short sighted.
