RIP

I wish the club would defy the PL and have the minute silence.

His family are coming to the game and will be with me in the lower Holmsdale. Palace fans, please do your job on 19 minutes and make them proud.

It is not the case at all that the Premier League are involved in banning a minute's silence.

Palace have a clear and understandable policy on this.

We lost our dear family friend Peter Bonthrone a few months ago. A man who had devoted his life to Palace and hadn't missed a game at Selhurst Park since the early 1960's. There was a lovely article in the programme but no minute's silence/applause.

It was explained to us then that the club cannot do this for one supporter - no matter how tragic the loss - because once they do, it would be very difficult to refuse it for another one. Nobody at the club wants to be in a position where they have to decide which fan might "deserve" it and which one doesn't. There would end up being one at every single game if they changed this policy. That makes sense to me even in the current tragic circumstances.

We'll all be clapping in memory of Harry on 19 minutes.

It's been a sad week with the loss of the Rev Andrew Wakefield yesterday. A livelong Palace fan and a devoted servant to his local community.
