From a playing perspective Paddy should have gone a long time ago. I can only assume that the owners and other staff have seen something in him that make them think he can contribute as a mentor and now ultimately a coach. Could be the start of a Barcelona like model of manager progression. Through the youth team ranks to assistant manager....

That wont be a first then, he's done that a fair few times with the ladyfriends of the club/playing staff
