Its reported that Joe is out of contract at the end of the season. Says the same on the transfermarket site Is this because he is refusing to discuss or is it stuck at the Pardew Parish end? Either way it concerns me as Joe is clearly first team standard now he is out of the shadow of Jedi. Unusually for a 29 year old, he actually seems to be having his best season for us. I'd say offer Joe a 3 year contract. Good first team player this season and a highly dependable footballer week in week out. Parrot

I am sure general talks have opened if the club have any interest in retaining Ledley's services. However last season he was a bit part player and perhaps the club are thinking about trying to improve on him. Ledley has played well this season although, as against Middlesbrough, he is prone to making very expensive errors. Personally I think there should be a place in a 25 man squad for a player like Ledley. He does not get all huffy when not in the team, he does a good job when selected, he is very useful to have on the bench being able to play in midfield or as an emergency left back and he is reliable and dependable. If Ledley were to leave at the end of the season my feelings would be related to who we replaced him with.
