I have written a brief review of the season so far - pretty positive, especially in comparison to the end of last season. Covers a few topics such as Pardew's new style and pressing game, Ledley over Cabaye and a comparison between our start this year and last.

If you have a minute, have a read and let me know what you think! Cheers

To be honest I couldn't keep with numbers but it's 2am. I looked at the 14th ranking for passing and I thought that our passing had improved this season which might go to showing how much we've improved, but where we ranked last season? The fact that we still rank high (top) on crosses and on set pieces is no surprise.

Good little article. Goes to show that I'll read anything during the International break!

Be interested to see this a few more weeks in and see if we're consistent.

Ha yes I was hoping the international break might tempt a few in!

Thanks, will do an update in another 7 games or so.

To be fair, we've increased in passes per game each season under Pards.
14/15 - 320 a game (20th)
15/16 - 363 (17th)
16/17 - 390 (14th)

Nice stats Mr Victor sir. Hopefully we're on for somewhere between 47 and 60 points and a comfortable mid table position.
I wonder how much dosh that's worth and whether we can put in a cheeky bid against one of the big boys for a superstar like Bale? (Just for the fun of it and the headlines)

Nice piece.

The next two months will be interesting as you say. Better teams but we look better each week.

That's encouraging. Along with everything else.

Nice article.

Like you say, I think the next 7 or so games will be a true indicator of how far we have come.

I like the part about Cabaye, which must be a conundrum for AP. I do feel more comfortable with Ledley and McArthur.

The international break may test the depth of our squad if any injuries were to be picked up. Cabaye kind of lost his place after picking up an injury (training?) with France.

A similar touch of bad luck to Ledley, McArthur or Townsend during the international break could see the same kind of misfortune making way for Cabaye get his place back. So, I suppose in some way that having a player like Cabaye as back up, is actually a positive sign that we have a little bit of depth in midfield. I am just glad none of our defenders were called up to play for their country.
