I really don't see how they are losing out by missing ONE league cup game against very good opposition (chances are we'd still lose).

So if they're not on loan and they're out of the cup, what do they do from now until Jan? Nothing!

None of them are ready yet for the Premier League so they should be out on loan at lower leagues, which they are.

If they are good enough he will play them.

Wouldn't mind seeing Dreher in a couple of games mind but tough to know when to put him in.

If they're making the league cup squad for league 1 and 2 teams, then they're probably not good enough for the premiership (unless that team is playing big opposition).

Even in the championship and league 1 the League cup is more a 'reserves' tournament at this stage.

Fryers has been on the bench in the last two league games. Maybe he is back in with a shout of redemption.

Fryers only played a handful of games for Man Utd.Must have left there maybe 4-5 years ago and since then I don't think he has racked up 30 appearances so his first team appearances have been limited.

Then you are wrong, and you have me mistaken for Brentmeister General and his unnatural hatred for Hennessey. I have no feelings either way - I just want the best players for Palace and last season Hennessey was the best goalkeeper we had and I argued that fact. Now he probably isn't.

It's not unnarural, I just called him out as being s***e from the start. You have fought tooth and nail against it and called me all sorts. I stuck by my guns and in the one position he can play in, he has rightly been replaced by a player who is far better than him. I just want you to be a man and admit that I was right the whole time. Then I'll leave you alone and never interact with you ever again. Come on. Admit I was right, we needed an upgrade on Wayne and we got one.

Not seen enough of Mandanda to form such a judgement.
Rest assured if he "Drops a ricket" in the next game, there will be calls to re-instate Hennessey !

Please advise where you got this information from. I have not seen any withdrawal of a Europa League place for the League Cup winners. All reports indicate to me that winning this competition still gets you through to the third qualifying round.

The competition cannot even get a sponsor anymore, as its been down graded so much. The Europa place has gone to the Fair Play place in the Premier or League place, not sure which.
Teams only enter as there obliged too, its been treated with contempt by the big teams for years.

I've seen enough in the one live game and the other televised that I've seen him in, to tell me that he is far better than Hennessey. Not that that is hard.

For me we played a prem team squad to squad and lost. No biggie. Our squad players didn't look very good, but for the most part that's why they are squad players. Except for Mutch I can't think of any that were even remotely costly. We're not the type of team that can have a Juan Mata sitting on the bench.

The big downer is Dann's injury, but as people have said, he could have been injured slipping in the shower.

But I get joy from my mates who are West Ham fans, who struggled badly to score against a League Two team with Payet / Zaza / Lanzizi / Antonio / Obiang.
AND they scored late so they get another games to play that distracts from their Prem woes. 39,000 Hammers and 600 from Accrington, who must have loved it.

I can imagine the meltdown here if we struggled to beat Accrington with Benteke / Townsend / McArthur / Zaha / Puncheon on.

So bye bye ELC, won't really miss you.

Boateng you have a point but for him to get a regular run he'd be waiting for periods of 3 of the top 5 midfielders to be unavailable. Then when one of them is back he's out of the team again whereas they can get 30 or more, hopefully 40 games on loan.

We're almost in that position now with Tomkins and Dann out, Fryers being a waste of time and Ledley or Flamini possibly filling in at full back but Tomkins and/or Dann will be back within 2 and 3 weeks so Boateng would get 2 goes and out again.

I don't know, I'd still prefer the option of having Williams and Kaikai on the bench over Mutch and Sako. Boateng, I agree, plays in a very competitive position so I can see him on loan as a good thing.

I clarified earlier that us going out of the EFL Trophy was what the youngsters would be missing out on. How many times have we seen that "if they are good enough" s***? Would Rashford be where he is now if not for ManUre's injury situation last season? The fact is you don't really know until you try them.

My problem with you is that you never gave WH a chance. You'd decided for some reason that he wasn't good enough before he ever played for us and nothing was going to change your mind. I like to see people play before I make a judgment. After I've seen SM a few more times I'll happily let you know if I think he's a better keeper. But for now it is too soon. (You really are in need of validation!).

Are you making this up as you go along?

For a start the EPL now also has no sponsor - so not sure of the relevance.

The League Cup still gets a Europa League spot from what I can see.

If you can give evidence of your assertions that would be much appreciated.

I had the misfortune of seeing AM in goal before he was dropped and WH put in his place. At first I thought it was a good move. Then i watched him play. Whilst he's not rubbish, he certainly doesnt instill any confidence in me when I watch him play. He has a mistake in him pretty much every time he laces his boots.

In contrast, having seen all of SMs matches so far, he looks self assured, in control and confident in his own ability.
