I think the BBC did the best barometer of how we fans feel of our summer dealings. They did a squad satisfaction selector, basically going through each position and saying "satisfied" or "not satisfied". Most of the papers and Sky just had one fans opinion or pundit who wouldn't know the ins and outs of our squad. Anyway, here are the results: 'Palace's squad was one of the most split, with some positions above 90%, others below 60%. The areas for concern were left-back (55% approval) and both central midfield slots at around 60% - the arrival of the out-of-contract Mathieu Flamini perhaps partly addressing this potential weakness. Better news was to be found in goal (98% approval) and attack with 93% approval for the front two.' We were in the middle 8 teams in terms of satisfaction (for some reason they included 3 Scottish teams). I think that sums it up really. There are those who are of course delighted with the big signings we've captured this year. And then it seems another huge proportion of us see the weaknesses in terms of the squad depth. I probably fall into the latter category. Both are entirely logical positions to take I think, it's a shame a lot of people have reverted to personal insults on a question that clearly has no right answer.

Fair, yes. That blessing in disguise that Remy is injured is about as stupid as it gets.

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I think the 98% and 93% approval for the keeper and striker positions respectively show that there has been phenomenal improvements in 2 key areas, both positions would have probably been at about 30% approval last year.

Thin and lacking in drive and creativity in midfield. Cabaye, McAtrthur, Puncheon, Lee all nice footballers but where is the speed, drive or cutting edge.

Decent survey for once, not sure if I missed it but would be good to see palaces full results rather than just the summary paragraph? Although I did manage to click through and fill it out. Also fully agree with the outcome being mixed based on positions analysed. But as a whole I'm very pleased with the window we've had, and accept that all our short falls wouldn't be fixed in one window. That doesn't mean there's not more to do. But also doesn't mean I'm going to moan and be ungrateful becuase we haven't got 100% of the positions sorted. Edited by Goldfiinger (10 Sep 2016 12.38am)
