Bexley and tux have got it just about right for me. We owe Jedi a massive debt of gratitude for the role he played in turning our club around ( not just him btw). But even through my red and blue tinted glasses it was CLEAR for all to see his distribution was putting us under pressure far too often and he didnt have the pace or athleticism to recover the situation. He couldnt step up to the level required of an ESTABLISHED Premier League side - which is what we want to be. I'd rather we were an evolving mid table Premier League club than a sentimental mid table Championship club. (I have spent decades knowing that feels like ........sh*** - no thanks! Even the most harsh of SP critics must accept he has done a truly astonishing job for us. From where we were to where we are in such a short space of time is beyond many of our wildest dreams.

There is a leader. His name is Scott Dann. We are leaving our past, as a middling Championship club, behind. The whole mentality of the club is as a fixture in the Premiership, and that's where we must all see our future. This signing is just a reaffirmation of that intention.

Being a captain is not an easy role and think you need a certain edge personality wise like Geoff Thomas and Jim Cannon! Is Dann made of this material only time will tell.
