I've been getting quite misty-eyed looking at all these line-ups of Palace heroes on this thread. So here's my contribution of the first team I ever saw (v Aldershot - won 2-1) in October 1956: Great days. Smashing team (photo attached). Woeful stadium (then).Best club in the world still. Up the Palace! Attachment: CPFC1956-7teamgroup.jpg (1,150.28Kb)

I can remember the goal being a screamer from outside the box, but then again I was 8 years old so if anyone can actually remember it I'd be interested to know what really happened!
I could be mistaken but was that the one where Wendy Toms made her debut as a top tier lineswoman?

Oh and the only other detail I can remember is I think that was the game where me and my Dad were stood at Selhurst station and our train just went straight through thestation followed by an announcement along the lines of "Erm...we're really sorry....that train was meant to stop at Selhurst....not sure what happened there".

I stand corrected, I was at Palace vs Barnsley on 19/04/1997. Knew it was 97.
