At £30 mill I think Benteke is a little over priced. Bony could be better value.

Would rather have Bony and a second striker for £30m

Usually, the buying club negotiates down from the asking price. £30m is a bit less that Liverpool paid for him and it could be that Palace could negotiate down from that to...? Maybe £25m? Kinda the going rate for a top striker, especially since he is still only mid 20's and suits Palace's playing style. Palace would still need to sign another striker tho, someone playing behind the main striker...someone like - Bony?!

Either both have good qualities and benteke is younger but would cost more. And more likely to use us as a step to bigger team if he plays well. On the down side bony is older and may have one of those age reducing African passports. Secretly could be 42. If you can get benteke for less than 25 mill yes if not bony at somewhere between 15 and 20 million would be great.

That alone must be worth the extra for benteke haha. Also suprised that we've had no negative idiot saying we're all stupid for discussing either. Edited by Reynolds1986 (01 Jul 2016 9.30am)

I've always been a really big fan of Bony and think he would offer a different dimension to our play: more likely to make a goal out of nothing. For me, Benteke is a bigger, stronger and better version of Wickham, but ultimately they offer the same kind of threat.

Definitely will need another striker in the squad, regardless of if we get Benteke or not (I hope we do!) Wickham, Benteke, Campbell is our striking options, with Bolasie, Zaha, Townsend and hopefully Kaikai to compete on the wings. Campbell will likely leave. So we'll need a third striker up top.

Benteke over Bony for me purely down to the age difference (Bony 27, Benteke 25) and Benteke is a bit more of a targetman over Bony (about 4" difference in height). I'd like to see Benteke in and Kouma Babacar as backup as young potentil giving us 3 striker options (Cambell does not count). Obviously in an ideal world would like a specialized number 10.
