If these two come in to replace the released Adebeyor and Campbell, this would be brilliant. Hopefully Gayle would stay, making a well balanced quartet with Wickham

by the sounds of things gayle is in demand by half the championship. I doubt he'll stay either. sadly as I think he'll end up in an even bigger money move to a team like Leicester in 2 yrs.

It's only my opinion but I think if we set a team up and style to play to Gayles strengths he would be the answer to all our scoring problems. He then would be worth a fortune, there is little doubt the majority of us feel he is a very good finisher.

It may not be the answer to ALL of them, but I do think, like you, that it would be the answer to a good part of them.

Yes, I am sure if we set up not to launch long balls up front all the time. We surely have enough skill at the back and midfield to keep the ball on the ground?

You'd like to think so, Dave. I think it's the long-ball game that prevents us seeing the best of players like Cabaye and, to a certain extent Wickham, who can win a ball, but has no one around him to get on the second ball. AP, I'm looking at you.

From highlights I've watched looks like he scores a lot of tap ins, lot of crosses across goal which he just dispatches into the back of the net. Position wise, he must be very good which could work well, as he would know how to get on the end of those zaha and bolasie crosses. Hope he isn't another soldado.

Too lightweight for our league ,no improvement on what we have or are moving on .

Gayle can do the tap ins if he gets the service

Whilst i agree that Dwight could score all the goals that i have seem Bakambu score on his youtube highlights i dont think Dwight is clever enough as a striker to get in those positions, im not bashing Gayle or bigging up Bakumbu but i think we do need a striker that knows when and where to make the runs a goalscorer/poacher should make, Gayle just doesnt seem IMHO to have a natural positional instinct but he does have good technical skills

Is his nickname the Giraffe ? Seriously though he does sound like the type of player we need, as well as an attacking midfielder who has similar positioning attacking sense. Have to say this is one area I have really been surprised that it hasn't been addressed at the beginning of last season. Need more bodies in the box. But to be fair we did spend a relative shed load on Cabaye. If Wilf and Yannick can work with the guy in training and gel think it might be very profitable for all concerned.
