Should get him reasonably cheaply, (for a song!) but recently hasnt delivered good performances, so he might be a reclamation job? Not entirely sure what kind of midfielder he is, whether he is attack or defense? Might be a decent squad acquisition?

Injuryfree he is a bit like Payet - withouth the French players' free-kicks. Dictate midfield, calm on the ball and with an eye for the splitting pass. If not disrupting team morale would be a great signing..

A non-goal scoring, defensive midfielder with attitude, who played very few games last season, is not really what we need.

He's ex-Barca, and has got that certain Barca-like finesse about him. Could be a good signing if we get the best out of him..

How do we know he's got an attitude? Took a big drop from Barca to West Ham for game time and has dropped out of favour since Bilic joined.

In my opinion would be an excellent big name signing. It would show real intent. that said, it is our strongest position and rather we focused on a striker and CB first

Why are we even debating this? He's absolute class.

This in my view would be a brilliant signing. With all the people moaning about Cabaye and not getting much out of him, this type of player would do just that.

When Jimmy Mac wasn't there Cabaye struggled as teams knew they could put 2 or 3 players onto him and he would have to give a pass to a player not as confident on the ball, with someone like Song there that is negated. He is comfortable on the ball and can pick a pass. If teams try and mark Wilf and Bolassie out of the game, we would have 3 midfielders (with Jimmy Mac or Punch as the other) that are comfortable on the ball and can make space. This will give us another dimension to our play and as long as we have a striker making runs we will be a very different sort of opposition for teams, it will certainly give us that 'plan b'

No doubt he is a very good player but will be high wage earner in a position where we have Jedi, Cabaye, McCarthur and Ledley.
Think we will be better looking at a decent attacking midfielder.

I bet he couldn't score a goal like that one, though!
