Sissoko, Townsend and Ayew are the only 3 I'd consider. With Andros we have seen what he can do. sissoko can be dangerous when in the right set-up and with Ayew, I dont think we saw the best of him in that poor villa side. With our pacey wingers, I think we could see him bag quite a few next season, he shouldn't be overlooked.

A Pardew signing at Newcastle for £2.2 Mill.
Has similarities with Patrick Vieira.

Why would we "Plundering the relegated" those teams were relegated for a reason, that reason is the players playing for those teams were not playing well enough to keep their side in the league, we need to strengthen the side not move sideways or backwards.

Didn't you tell us that that van Dijk was a poor choice for a defender, in large part because he was playing at a poor level?

Just because a player is at a relegated club, does not mean he is not worth looking at. Newscastle have some good players, as could be seen about 18 months ago and in flashes under Benitez. Methinks relegation is not just down to the players, it has something to do with the quality of coaching too. Don't get me wrong, I don't think there is a lot of quality in the teams below us, but to dismiss their players purely because of where they ended up seems silly.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Precisely the point. People have been quick to dismiss players at relegated clubs as though that automatically means they are useless. Simply put, that's asinine. Newcastle have some good players, but have had long term internal issues at the club for ages. Same as Villa. Some of the players at those clubs have performed poorly largely as the result of being in such a toxic atmosphere. Others simply were not up to the job. But, that doesn't alter the fact that players at a relegated club are not s*** just because they are there.
